The 32nd America's Cup and the Louis Vuitton Cup Final and Semi Finals will be broadcast LIVE in the US by Versus Network (formerly Outdoor Life/OLN).  Dedicated fans will note that this is a significant step forward over recent years in which only the America's Cup Final was shown live and all other coverage was tape-delayed.

Rounds Robin (updated 4/20/07):

A Round Robin highlights show is scheduled to air on Versus May 13 from 4-5 p.m. ET.  This one-hour show will re-cap Rounds Robin 1 and 2.  Currently short daily recaps are also now available online at Versus, along with some feature content.

(Note: In some earlier discussions from Versus, plans included mention of daily highlights during the Rounds Robin.  This will not be a full broadcast program, instead consisting of short nightly recaps between periods on the Versus Network's Stanley Cup playoffs coverage.)

Semi-Finals, Finals, and America's Cup Match:

The live coverage schedule is listed below, times subject to change.  Similar to the network's comprehensive Tour De France cycling coverage, shows will also re-air later that day, the LVC Semi Finals showing again in the early evening, and the LVC Final and America's Cup broadcast airing again each night in Prime Time.  In most cases, there will be a late west coast re-airing as well.  The Versus coverage will not be in High-Definition.

And that is not all from Versus.  To quote their press release: In addition to television coverage, Versus Network will provide 24-hour access to race information beginning with the Round Robin series. The site will feature video clips of race footage; sailing features; daily reports from Versus commentators and sailing experts; insider information about the races, teams and competitors; photo galleries and updates for overall race standings.

The Versus on-air team includes veteran broadcaster Craig Hummer as host, former America’s Cup sailor Andy Green, who was a helmsman for England, as color analyst, and Tucker Thompson of t2p.tv will be the on-the-water reporter
