Valencia, Spain, October 21st 2008 Note: An English-language translation of the Press Release is not yet available. Please accept this loose translation with the understanding it is not exact, does not come from CNEV, and we ask that any errors or discrepancies be accepted with that understanding. Alinghi and Desafío Español are the first teams registered in the annual yacht race of the Club Náutico Español de Vela, which is also open to other America's Cup teams and to RN handicap boats. The second edition of the Trofeo Desafío Español the annual yacht race organized by the Club Nautico Español de Vela, will include participation of teams and boats of the 32nd America's Cup. Aboard the ACC Version 5 which competed in the last edition in Valencia, Alinghi -- the team selected by the Defender, SNG -- and the Desafío Español syndicate of the Challenger of Record, CNEV, will race in a series of regattas to be held November 8th and 9th, which will mark the return of the America's Cup boats to their rightful place, the water and shorefront of the city of Valencia. "Our wish is that the America's Cup be held in Valencia as soon as possible,” confirmed Manuel Chirivella, president of CNEV, "and this is why we think that the Trofeo Desafío Español will help warm up engines, not only for Desafío Español and Alinghi but also for those other America's Cup teams which may want to participate, and can also register." On top of the two teams which marked the success of the 32nd edition and those who may formalize their registration in the coming weeks, the second edition of the annual regatta of CNEV is open to RN Handicap boats, similar to last year's first edition attended by 88 boats from 17 yacht clubs of Valencia, Murcia, and Cataluña provinces. Registration is already open and can be formalized using the official form attached to the Notice of Race which can be downloaded on the website of Club Nautico Español de Vela at www.clubnauticoev.com.
