In Race 3, INEOS had a failure of their Foil Canting System and withdrew on the second downwind leg.
Race 4 was the barn-burner. American Magic looked to run away with it, while ETNZ was late at the pre-start and had some struggles before turning on the speed. Emirates got the inside spot at the last weather mark, held AM out and gybed away in the lead, leaving American Magic with a penalty, but USA sailed better angles in better breeze downwind, pulling ahead again to win by 12 seconds.

Sunday's Prada America's Cup Christmas Race regatta consists of four races. ETNZ will face INEOS, the 1-4 pairing, and American Magic will face Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, the 2-3 pairing. The losers of the opening races will compete for 3rd place, and the winners of each pair will then race for 1st place.

Sunday, Weather: NNE light 7-12 kts (official). Low Tide 18:45. RepCast weather: The wind is all over the compass - it’s less than 5 knots variable until around early afternoon. By about 1000hrs it’s a fluky SSE of 2-5 knots, but will flip around to 4-7 knots NNE to NE at about 1300hrs, then expecting it die off to 2-4 knots N by 1600hrs. Most of the north course off Long Bay looks similar, fluky variable 2-4 knots sea breeze off land, but skewed to NNW.
RepCast is only 50%, even under the match conditions permitting starts down to 6.5 kts windspeed. Monday improves to 15 kts in the afternoon.
Race 1, Attempt 1, (Terminated):
Race 1 got underway in very light air. ETNZ was able to foil consistently at first, while INEOS TEAM UK was not. However, ETNZ was also unable to finish before the 45-minute time limit ran out, and the race was terminated. The race will be re-sailed.
Facing the 7:00pm/1900hrs cutoff, there are no provisions for Christmas Cup racing after today, so the regatta will end here.
