The official book for the event- "32nd America's Cup" was presented today in Port America's Cup. A wonderful collection of photographs in 216 pages printed in large format (27x35 cm) and with texts in five languages (Spanish, English, French, Italian and German) reflecting all the beauty, technology, emotion and the universal character of the oldest sporting trophy in the world. The work is the result of a year and a half of work compilation and selection from thousands of images taken over three years of America's Cup action taken by seven of the best photographers in the world. Carlo Borlenghi, one of the primary photographers whose work is featured, says this America's Cup has been a unique experience for him. "I have discovered a new way of looking at racing. I have been a photographer for a number of editions of the America's Cup, but it is only now that I feel I have total freedom to take some totally different photographs and be really creative." Juan Carlos Luna, President of Lunwerg Editors, recognized the importance of the book for the publishing group, "This book has been an important challenge for us. Our publishing company has a great tradition in scientific and maritime publications, and we thought it would be interesting to take on the America's Cup book project. We contacted ACM a year and a half ago, and this is the result." "32nd America's Cup" shows the great beauty of the event in seven chapters that illustrate the people, technology, international culture and emotion. The first edition and 10,000
copies of the official 32nd America's Cup book will go on sale next
week at a price of 59.50€ and will be available from department stores,
specialized book shops and naturally, Port America's Cup. In the near future a
special luxury boxed edition of the book will also be available. |
